The star ceiling kit uses fibre optic technology to give a night sky appearance to any room. The fibre ends twinkle giving the effect of stars. The design of the pattern is totally flexible and only limited by your own imagination.

1. Locate suitable area for installation as it is very important that the light source is easily accessible for the lamp change. The light source should be mounted on a flat surface and have enough ventilation to provide a free flow of air around the unit.

2. Once a suitable area has been identified, the next step is to plan your design. The pattern can be entirely random or symmetrical (your imagination is your limit). The overall spread of the design should not exceed 2.8 meters with the light source centrally placed as each fibre tail is 1.5 meters long.

3. Now the design has been finalised, drill the holes to the required size (depending on the use of bullet lenses). Before drilling the whole pattern it is advisable to make a test hole to confirm the snug fit of the fibre tail or bullet lens.

4. The light source can now be installed and must be fixed in position so that no electrical cable will be strained. The light source can be wired into a suitable lighting circuit but must not be connected via a dimmer switch.

5. Spread the fibre optic harness out over the drilled area and push the tails through the holes so that about 100mm protrudes if bullet lenses are to be used. If no lenses are being used push the fibre tails to leave them flush with the ceiling.

6. If bullet lenses are being used, push the lenses onto the fibre tail and push back into the ceiling.

7. The system is now ready for use.
